Brief History and Background

Estate Sales & Letting has been specialising mostly in the letting of middle class townhouse accommodation in Centurion since 1996.

Initially Julie worked as a sales agent for Kapece Properties at La Mont, Mont Fleur, Mont Valon, Mont Reve and Mont Bernini townhouse complexes. At that time prices were such that people could still buy property as investment and the rent would cover the bond repayments as well as the levies. As investors were buying, they built up a relationship with the agent and then requested her to handle the letting of their properties.

Something that started as a small sideline handling the odd six to eight properties escalated to the degree where it became necessary to turn it into a proper business. The name Estate Sales & Letting evolved from Estate Builders which was by that time established and successful in the home building market. Being family-related, it made sense to put it under the same umbrella. The director, Pieter Botha, is also the owner /director of Estate Builders.

Earlier on in 2009, a number of owners who had had a very raw deal from another agent, asked Julie to also handle their properties in Midrand.

The main reason for the success of this venture is that the properties are regarded as our own and as such, costs to owners are kept to a minimum. Repairs are done at minimal expense, commission is kept below the average and the whole business is totally hands-on.

At the same time, the interests of the tenants are looked after as well as those of the owners. How we see letting is that from day one, you walk hand in hand with both the owner and the tenant and you have to have a good relationship with both.

Julie attends most AGM's on behalf of the owners and has been on the Boards of Trustees of various complexes as she is very involved in the running of the complexes and the interests of her clients.
